SCHOOL ETHOS

The School Ethos

Centre Stage strives to offer a creative and high standard of teaching within the Performing Arts disciplines. It is our goal to develop students understanding of the Arts, expand performance ability and increase self confidence through learning.

It is the objective of all staff at the school to offer innovative and creative teaching without discrimination or favouritism.  All tutors and staff share the same objective; to help each student increase their abilities and grow as an indivdual, within a warm and compassionate teaching environment.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Fees are payable on or before the beginning of each term.

Four weeks written notice must be given by the parent/guardian, wishing to withdraw a student from classes.  This notice must be given prior to the end of term to enable the place to be offered elsewhere.  Please Note: Where the appropriate written notice is not given, an invoice will be issued for four weeks class fees, in lieu of notice.

The class uniform of T-Shirt and Hooded Sweat-shirt are compulsory for Saturday and Sunday students under 14 years and must be worn to classes.  Black trousers or track suit bottoms must also be worn. All students are advised to wear appropriate shoes for dance.  Jazz shoes can be bought through the school at a reduced cost or can be purchased at local dance wear shops.

The school has the right to exclude any student acting in a way, which we feel is detrimental to the school, the tutors or their contemporaries.

Centre Stage cannot be held responsible for the loss of any items or possessions on the premises.

Please avoid sending your son/daughter to classes with cash or valuables.  Jewellery should not be worn.  Stud earrings are acceptable.

A health form will be sent on acceptance of a place.  This form should be completed and brought to class on the first day.  It is the duty of the parent/guardian to advise the school of any health problems.   To avoid embarrassment, we must be told if the student is a slow reader or has dyslexia.  We will always endeavour to offer extra help.  All health, educational and personal information will be treated with the strictest confidence.

Please only provide water to drink and if necessary fruit or a bread based snack, for the break.  Fizzy drinks, sweets, crisps and chocolate are forbidden (unless for health reasons and with written permission from a parent).

Senior students are permitted to leave the premises during their break.  All other students are required to stay on school premises until the end of classes.

From time to time we will take class and production photographs (during classes/rehearsals/ shows).  These may be used on our website.  Please advise the office, in writing, if you have any objection to images of your son/daughter being used for this purpose.

A SMALL SELECTION OF LETTERS & EMAILS FROM PARENTS & STUDENTS

"WOW last night was amazing!!! Very proud to work at Centre Stage x"

“Just got home, it was absolutely brill and I enjoyed it as much as the West End.   The children were so enthusiastic and the whole show just perfect.

Particularly like Lucy as Eponine.    You must be so proud and rightly so”

“THAT WAS INCREDIBLE.      End of story……   Let me be crystal clear.  This is my favorite show.  Ever....  Four times.... and the 25th anniversary concert.  It is a massive task to

put this on badly, much less to do it well.  The weight of expectation must have been very real…

O.M.G.  I was expecting good – but not this.   Some of those kids are just wonderful.  You have some outstanding talent.  I almost shed a tear on more than one occasion..

Tell Nick I am impressed.   Please highlight that I am a VERY BAD PERSON – so praise indeed… Take my children… make them stars.

Congratulations to you all.  I loved every second of it.”
