TERMS AND CONDITIONS

RESPECT & BEHAVIOUR
Centre Stage students are required to show respect and consideration to their tutors and each other.  It is an integral part of the school ethos to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone to enjoy.
Any disruptive or intolerant behaviour will be reported to parents in the first instance.  We are a fair and tolerant school, and will work with parents to resolve any underlying issues, however, persistent bad behaviour or behaviour that we feel is detrimental to the school, our staff or other students will result in that student being asked to leave classes.  In the event of a student being asked to leave the school for unacceptable behaviour, there will be no refund of fees.

UNIFORM & BELONGINGS
There is a compulsory uniform of school T-shirt and hooded sweat-shirt for Saturday students from the Junior to Advanced Intermediate classes.  Uniform must be worn at all classes, with black dance trousers or black track suit bottoms.  Required footwear is either black dance shoes or black plimsolls.  Dance shoes can be purchased through the school at a reduced cost or from local dance wear shops.  Please make sure that all uniform and shoes are clearly marked with your child’s name, otherwise mislaid items of clothing cannot be identified.

We ask that students do not bring cash or valuables to classes, as Centre Stage cannot be held responsible for the loss of any personal items or possessions.  Jewellery should not be worn.  Stud earrings are acceptable.
Pre-Senior and Senior students are not required to wear school uniform, however, we do ask that they wear appropriate, comfortable clothing for lessons and suitable, flexible  footwear for dance (no boots, Uggs or heavy shoes).
For all students:  Hair should be neat and tidy.  Long hair tied back and away from the face.

MOBILE PHONES
If a student must bring a mobile phone to classes it will be at their own risk.  We ask that all mobiles are switched off, or on silent during lessons, and stored away in a safe place (NOT carried into the lesson in pockets).  Making / receiving / checking calls or messages during classes will not be permitted.  Please respect your tutor and other students by waiting until break or the end of classes to use your phone.

BREAK
Students have a short break during classes. Please provide water to drink and if necessary fruit or a bread based snack.  Fizzy drinks, sweets, crisps, gum and chocolate are not permitted on the school premises (unless for  health reasons and accompanied by a written request  from a parent).

ONLY Pre-Senior and Senior students are permitted to leave the school premises during their break. All other students are required to stay on school premises until the end of classes.

LEAVING SCHOOL PREMISES:
Junior and Intermediate students must be collected from their last lesson by a parent or older sibling.  Please advise us in advance, preferably by email or text, if you have asked any other adult to collect your child.  No student from this age group is allowed to leave on their own or meet a parent outside.

To comply with Health & Safety regulations, any student who needs to leave classes early, MUST inform their tutor or a member of staff on the day so that they can be marked off the register, (even if prior notice has been given to the office).  This applies to all age groups.

CONTACT DETAILS
Please ensure we are kept up to date with contact details for all parents and guardians. In the event of a student becoming ill or needing medical attention we will contact parents or emergency contact numbers.  We assure all parents and guardians that your personal details will not be passed on to any third party, in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998. If we are unable to contact an appropriate adult we will act as loco parentis and seek medical attention as we judge appropriate.  Please make sure we are kept up to date with any necessary medical information.

PAYMENT OF FEES
Fees are payable in advance on or before the first day of each term.  We regret that we are unable to accept weekly payments for classes. Terms and half term weeks are based on the London Borough of Enfield school dates.

Where a parent has two children at the school, we are happy to accept payment for the second child by cheque, post-dated for the half term.  A third son or daughter at the school is free of charge.  The free place is offered to brothers and sisters only and cannot be extended to other relatives or friends.
Fees cannot be refunded for non-attendance at classes.

PHOTOGRAPHS
We require a photograph of each student for our files.   If you are unable to provide a passport size photograph with your health form we will take a head shot when your child starts classes.  These headshots are for our records only.
From time to time we will also take photographs or video footage during classes/rehearsals/ shows etc., which may be used on our website or for other advertising material.  Please advise the office, in writing, if you have any objection to images of your son/daughter being used for this purpose.

NOTICE REQUIRED
We hope your son or daughter will remain with us for many years, as most of our students do, but when the time does come to say goodbye we require a minimum of four weeks written notice from a parent/guardian.  This notice must be given prior to the end of term to enable us to offer the place elsewhere.   In the event of a student not returning to a new term, without giving the appropriate written notice, an invoice will be issued for four weeks class fees, in lieu of notice.

HEALTH FORMS
A health form is sent to all students once a place has been accepted.  This form should be completed and brought to class on the first day.  Please notify us of any relevant changes in personal or contact details, either by email or by printing and completing the relevant document from our ‘FORMS’ section.

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to advise the school of any health problems or behavioural issues, and to keep us updated of any changes.
To avoid embarrassment to students, please let us know if your son or daughter is a slow reader or has dyslexia or any other learning issues.  We will always endeavour to offer extra help where needed.  All health, educational and personal information is treated with the strictest confidence.

Your son or daughter will find a warm welcome at Centre Stage, and we sincerely hope that their time with us will build confidence and give them many happy memories.
