Dance Troupe

Saturday 1:00PM - 2:00PM

Centre Stage Dance Troupe offers additional danceclasses to students from our CS classes who are looking to work on more challenging dance routines and be involved in additional dance performances. The class takes place on Saturday afternoons and the group is split into Junior and Senior troupes. The Dance Troupe performs at various events throughout the year.

Cabaret Evening

Every term we hold a Centre Stage Cabaret Evening, which enables our soloists to develop their singing technique and enhance their live performance skills in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Any students with the desire to develop their singing talent and performance through song are always encouraged to audition for our very popular Cabaret Evenings.

In 2006, Centre Stage created the UpStaged Theatre Company. A performance based production company for Senior Drama students, over the age of sixteen, who are looking to gain additional acting experience.

Former members of our UpStaged Theatre Company have gone on to train at RADA, Bristol Old Vic, Mount-view, ALRA, The Brit School and Arts Ed; with a number of second and third round recalls at Central, LAMDA, Drama Centre and Rose Bruford among others. Other students have gained agency representation orimmediate professional work and have gone on to appear in film and TV hits such as The Imitation Game, Children of Men, Shooting Dogs, Hugo, Wolfman,Hollyoaks, My Parents are Aliens and Porgy and Bess.Productions are rehearsed in addition to normalSaturday classes and performed in professionaltheatres, as well as regularly transferring to The Edinburgh and Camden Fringe Festivals.

External Musical Productions

In addition to class productions, Centre Stage produce external musicals which are performed in professional theatres. Participation is optional and students canaudition for any production that falls within their age group. Rehearsals for outside productions are held in addition to classes, usually on Sundays and/or one mid week evening. We have produced ten full-scalemusicals to date, including Les Miserables, The Wizard of Oz, Fame, Our House, Hairspray and Seussical.

The Oscars

Each year we host an Oscar Awards Ceremony in which we recap and celebrate the year’s work and reward all our students for their achievements in class work, shows and productions.

This night is one of the highlights of our year with Live Entertainment, Raffle Prizes, Awards and a Disco to see out yet another busy year with the Centre Stage Family!
